So....

I've always wanted to start a blog, then I was linked to this site and I thought why not?! So, here I am.

I can't promise you that my blog will be of anything interesting - I do however enjoy writing and will write about anything, some boring, some sad, some happy .... whatever takes my fancy on any particular day.

A little bit about me; I'm married to A, we have been married over a year. We live in a little house (Maybe that's an overstatement, a small cottage suits better!), we have a beautiful little doggie that keeps us entertained. We both work full time, and soon hope to one day add to our family with a baby or two!
I hate housework, but then, who doesn't? I do it anyway.
I like growing my own vegetables, it makes me feel like I am achieving something, so far I've grown cucumber, tomato, capsicum, snow peas, corn and lettuce - for my first attempt, I was pretty impressed with the outcome.

I'm constantly wanting to do things around the house, which drives my Husband mad. He tells me that all I do is add to "The List"; apparently it's a wife thing, we all do it, and apparently we also do is on purpose, to drive our husband's mad! It's not true - I just like to "do things", whatever they may be. This week I've decided that one of our spare bedroom's needs painting, this is the second one that I've painted so I know that I am capable - so while Hubby is at work, I will start on my task.

About the list thing, it's probably true what he says... Before we even moved into the house I had started on the list - We had this horrible concreate backyard, not an inch of grass insight, that soon changed! The week we were back from our honey moon, the backyard got demolished, and grass was layed. Although he did all the hard work, it was my brillant idea! Now I even have a clothes line, which I can tell you, makes a huge difference!

Now, I'm rambling off track, I was talking about vegetables and now I'm talking about backyards! Back to the other topic... Apart from vegetables, I make my own yoghurt, I've tried making my own bread a few times, I still need to master that... Or maybe buy a bread maker!

I hate exercise, but again, it's one of those things I do anyway - I'm not a gym junkie or anything, but I do take my dog for a walk (or should I say, she takes me for a walk, because all she does is pull!), which she enjoys.

I've been through a lot to be where I am today; maybe one day I'll share, but for now, I know that I'm in good place, and I'm happy where I am in my life.

Hope the sun is shining in your life today...

Until next time

B.

  1. Is that you, Rebecca???

I love the bit about your dog. Isn't that how it usually goes.

I'm impressed that you have a garden. I'm so horrible at that.

    And your own yogurt? Awesome!

  2. Yes, yes it's me!

I'm usually horrible at garden things too... but i'm learning and improving and having fresh veggies are so so much nicer than store bought ones!

  3. Maybe I'll learn eventually too.

We did manage to grow some green beans last summer. But we ended up with about five total beans!!!!

I think we'll try again this spring/summer. What do you think is easy to start with?

  4. Tomato's are easy - as long as they have something to climb on they are fine. I grow cherry tomatos - they do need a lot of water though.

Cucumber is also really easy - lots of water and something for the vine to climb on.

I got maybe five or six cucumbers from the plant, and they were yummy!

I did grow snow peas - they weren't very successful, but we got maybe three or four.

My strawberry plant is still growing, but haven't had any strawberries yet, I don't know if I will or not.
